ANNOUNCEMENT / INVITATION
GENERAL:
The Volvo Open Cup will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2014, the Special Regulations and Technical Rules Single & Pair Skating and Ice Dance 2014 as well as all pertinent ISU Communications and valid decisions of the ISU Congress 2014.
Participation in the Volvo Open Cup is open to all competitors who belong to an ISU Member, Rule 109, paragraph 1, and qualify with regard to eligibility, according to Rule 102, provided their ages fall within the limits specified in Rule 108, paragraph 3. a) and they meet the participation, citizenship and residency requirements in Rule 109, paragraphs 1 through 5 and ISU Communication 1420.
Passports of the skaters, as well as the ISU Clearance Certificate, if applicable, must be presented at the accreditation.
The event is part of the “ISU Challenger Series 2014/2015”. Points and Prize money are settled within ISU Communication 1858.
ISU World Standing points will also be awarded according to the “World Standings Procedure” for the “ISU Challenger Series 2014/2015” / ISU Communication 1858.

Both rinks are in same building.
ENTRIES for Competition :
All the members of ISU and Clubs, being members of National Skating Federations associated with ISU, are invited to take part in this competition.
Each entry form must be signed by an authorized ISU Member Representative such as President, General Secretary or Executive Director.
Members can enter up to 3 Skaters/Couples into each category. Substitute Skaters/Couples may be nominated in entry form.
Organizers have the right to refuse or limit the participation in competition. The attached entry forms have to be filled in precisely and can be sent by e-mail on the address given below by October 1st, 2014 to:

The entry form for Competitors must be sent to the Organizing Member (Kristal_ice@hello.lv), the Sports Manager Figure Skating, Mr. Peter Krick (peter.krick@eventint.com) and the ISU Secretariat (entries@isu.ch).
With the entry forms, the “Program Content Sheet” must be returned to the Organizing Committee.
It is mandatory that the Program Content Sheet be completed precisely by each skater/couple in English using the proper terminology.
It is not permitted to hand over the Program Content Sheets directly to the acting Officials.
ENTRY FEE:
Advanced Novice, Junior, Senior category - 75 euro
Basic Novice – 60 euro
Pairs and Ice Dance – 90 euro
ENTRY FEE PAYMENT:
Entry fees must be paid after confirmation of member participation. Bill must be paid with one (1) transaction for all the country/member participants.

OFFICIALS:
Each participating ISU Member may nominate one (1) Judge with the qualification “Judge for International competitions” or “ISU Judge” per discipline, double duty Judges are welcome.
The entry form for Judges must be sent to the Organizing Member (Kristal_ice@hello.lv), the Sports Manager Figure Skating, Mr. Peter Krick (peter.krick@eventint.com) and the ISU Secretariat (entries@isu.ch).
The Panels of Judges will consist of a minimum of seven (7) Judges in all panels.
The Referees and the Technical Panel members will be invited by the Organizing Committee who will also cover their travel expenses.
There will be a decision by the OC and the ISU to compose the panels of Judges after the entry deadline. In case of too many entries, the OC together with the ISU will make the decision who might serve

The Organizer will provide accommodation and meals for all Referees, Judges drawn for the panel, Technical Controllers, Technical Specialists, Data and Replay Operators
Competitors
Competitors and all other Team Members are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and meal expenses. ENTRIES of TEAM OFFICIALS
Official entries of Team Leaders, Team Officials, Coaches/Choreographers, Team Medical staff etc. must be made together with the entries for Competitors and Judges. The names of such Team Officials must be listed on the official Form “Composition of Delegation”. Judges and Judges’ partners are to be listed on the separate Form “Judges Entry”.
The Composition of Delegation form must be sent to the Organizing Member (Kristal_ice@hello.lv) and the ISU Secretariat (entries@isu.ch).
LIABILITY:
In accordance with Rule 119, it is the sole responsibility of each Member participating in the Volvo Open Cup 25th, to provide medical and accident insurance for their athletes, officials and all other members of the Member’s team. Such insurance must assure full medical attendance and also the return to the home country by air transport or by other expeditious means of the ill or injured person.
The Organizer assumes no responsibility for or liability with respect to bodily or personal injury or property damage incurred in connection with the event mentioned above.
THE CODE OF ETHICS:
All the skaters, coaches, judges, chaperons should follow the ISU Communication 1717, 1784 and 1853 (or any update of this Communication). Action against this rule conducts by itself the disqualification of the skater.
MUSIC:
All competitors shall furnish competition music of excellent quality on CD format or any other electronic media.
In accordance with Rule 343 all discs must have Competitor `s name, Member`s name and the exact running time of the Music ( not skating time) including any starting signal and must be submitted at the time of registration.
The titles, composers and orchestras of the music to be used for the Short Program and Free Skating Program for Singles, for the Short Dance and Free Dance Program for Ice Dance, must be listed for each Competitor on the official Music Selection Form and attached to the official Entry Form for Competitors.
If music information is not complete and music not provided, accreditation will not be given.
PLANNED PROGRAM CONTENTS :

AWARDS:
The top three competitors in each event (Final results) will be honored and awarded by Trophies , special presents and diplomas; others will receive diplomas and presents

Judging and calculations will be done according to ISU Special Regulations and Technical Rules Single & Pair Skating and Ice Dance 2014, Rule 352 and 353

ACCREDITATION / REGISTRATION
Accreditation will take place at the official hotel, Maritim Park Hotel. The accreditation
desk will open on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 18.00.
At Volvo Ice Arena during competition days.

The Organizer will make the room arrangements for INVITED officials only.

The competition will start on Wednesday, November 5 and will be finished on Sunday, November 9. Detailed time schedule will be send to all members soon after the close of entries.
